BUFFALO INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE
This event will be held over the Memorial Day holiday (May 27-30) in the Buffalo, NY area. It is a great experience, which combines staying with an American family in their home, sightseeing at the spectacular Niagara Falls, and the opportunity to learn about the Christian faith through a guest speaker and workshops on various topics. This conference is sponsored by International Students, Inc., a Christian organization which welcomes the participation of all international students/scholars regardless of their beliefs.
Our group from Penn State will be led by Bill Saxton. We will leave from the lobby of the Pasquerilla Spiritual Center on Friday, May 27 at 12:30 PM. (Please have lunch before then.) We will leave Buffalo on Monday morning (Memorial Day holiday) at 8:30 AM, and we should arrive back in State College by 2 PM.
To register, please obtain a copy of the Conference brochure with additional information and the registration form which can be downloaded and then printed from here. Then you will need to complete the Conference Registration Form, sign it, and return it to Bill Saxton, with a check for $45, payable to “International Students, Inc.”, to cover the Conference Fee. You will also need to pay an additional $50, in cash or in a separate check payable to “Bill Saxton” for your share of the transportation costs. So the total cost is only $95 for this wonderful weekend experience! For young children ages 5-12 the Conference Fee is $20 and transportation cost is $25. (Note: The cost of special sight-seeing experiences at Niagara Falls, such as the “Maid of the Mist” boat ride and the “Cave of the Winds” are not included in this price.)
If you come to the IMPSU office (201-A Eisenhower Chapel) to register and no one is there, you can place the registration form and payment in an envelope, and slide the envelope under the locked office door. We will then contact you to confirm that we received your payment. This trip is limited to the first 14 people who register. Registration deadline is Friday, April 29, though the trip probably will be full before then, so don’t wait to register!
What to bring: A bed, blankets, pillow, and towel will all be provided for you, so you only need to bring clothes and personal items such as a toothbrush, camera, and shampoo.
I hope you can join this special experience! If you have any questions, please call Bill at 404-6763, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org, or stop at the office (Room 210-A in the Eisenhower Chapel- upstairs in Pasquerilla Spiritual Center).
