See Lancaster, PA and learn about the Amish, and then travel to New York City for some sight seeing in the largest city in America! Join us for 4 days and 3 nights of travel and sightseeing. Here's the schedule:
Monday, March 9 -- Leave at 8:00AM from State College and drive approximately 2 hours to Lancaster Pennsylvania where we will visit the Amish House and Farm www.amishfarmandhouse.com Here we'll learn about the Amish way of life and afterward we'll drive around the Amish countryside, and also do some shopping. We will have dinner and spend the night with host families (friends of Chris) in West Chester, PA
Tuesday, March 10 - Enjoy breakfast with your host family and then we'll drive to New York City. The motel we are staying at is the Super8 motel in North Bergen, NJ. After checking in to our rooms we'll take the shuttle ($3.00) for a 15 minute ride into downtown New York City.
Wednesday, March 11 - Breakfast at the motel and then take the shuttle in for a 2nd day of sightseeing in New York City.
Thursday, March 12 - breakfast at the motel and spend a final day in New York City. We'll leave the city by about 3:00PM and return to Penn State by about 9:00PM
Cost: $190 per person for: Transportation, gas, tolls, 2 Nights in motel (2 persons per room), admission to the Amish Farm and House
Additional Money will be needed for: meals, for shuttle from the motel to and from NYC, and money for subway rides each day we're in NYC.
What to pack: Comfortable walking shoes, personal care items, warm clothes, umbrella, camera, money for lunches and dinners. Optional: small gift for your host family.
We have room for 10 people. For insurance purposes you must be 18 years or older to go on this trip. You also must be able to speak English because we want you to be able to communicate with your host family.
To Register: 1) fill out the registration form here 2) You will also need to pay the $190 fee. To pay, you may make a check payable to Bridges International, or pay by cash. Bring your payment to our office at 210A Eisenhower Chapel. Include your name and email address. If no one is at our office, simply place your payment in an envelope and slip it under the door - we will confirm by email that we received it.
